Sponsorship Support for Case Competitions
The Office of Experiential and Global Learning supports MBA students participating in Case Competitions while adhering to Mendoza's established expense and travel policies. To maintain this longstanding commitment, we implement clear parameters and accountability measures to ensure that students' participation aligns with the intended educational objectives of these competitions.
For these reasons, students seeking financial support for participation in a case competition are expected to review all related details at Summary: MBA Case Competition Funding Policy and Instructions; please note the following time-sensitive steps:
Before the Case Competition (required for any funding commitment)
Each participant must:
- Submit an Application Form
- Obtain and submit an Endorsement Form from a career coach or faculty member who can assess whether/how a particular case competition aligns with the participant’s academic and career goals.
- One endorsement is given to the entire team.
- One team member is responsible for bringing this form to the career coach or faculty member to obtain the endorsement.
After the Case Competition (required for reimbursement)
To ensure evidence of learning, within 10 days of the conclusion of the case competition, each student participant must upload a one-page, single-spaced summary of their case along with photos to document their full participation in the competition.
Financial and Travel Support Expectations
Aligned with established travel and expense policies, please note the following:
- Office of Experiential and Global Learning will book students’ travel and lodging.
- Participation in a case competition is considered co-curricular; thus, students are responsible for providing their own meals.
- Domestic case competition participants can receive up to a maximum per year of $700 total value of airfare and lodging (or up to $1000 for an international case competition).
